Krishnan N Ayyangar

Professor of Practice

Krishnan N Ayyangar joined MAHE Bengaluru as one of its earliest professors of practice in July 2025. Presently, he teaches a common-sense course in applied communications for freshmen in the Department of Commerce. The aim is to create a strong supply line of professional business communicators by a clear-headed induction of young talent in the communications economy with demonstrable skills that will last a lifetime. Over the previous 35 years, Krishnan has been a civil servant, corporate executive and development sector professional at various times in his eventful communications career. His presence has been felt in advertising, broadcasting, public relations, corporate communications, development communications, corporate diplomacy and communications L&D roles. All India Radio, the National Dairy Development Board, the SPIC Group and the BGR Energy Group have been some of his well-known employers for whom he headed the communications function. Risen from the ranks, Krishnan has both the snake and eagle views into communications. Krishnan has degrees in commerce, military and strategic studies, human rights, languages, culture and, of course, communications. That makes for an eclectic choice of disciplines which has ended up enriching his expressions, not only in his practice but also in his efforts to teach communications. Krishnan’s communications craft is conducted on the rights premise that access to information is a basic human right and that the organisation and presentation of such information is the responsibility of the situational sovereign: the organisation or the state, for example. Comfortable using several languages, Krishnan is trying to bring forth in the public domain several new insights into linguistic demographics.
