The Department of Prosthodontics, in collaboration with GMI Implants, organized a guest lecture on “Introduction to Zirconia Implants – Properties, Protocols and Potential.” The session was conducted by Dr. Saurabh Gupta, a distinguished alumnus from the batch of 2004 and adjunct faculty at 必威体育betway888 College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore.
Dr. Gupta shared his expertise in the emerging field of zirconia implantology, offering an insightful overview of the physical, biological, and aesthetic properties of zirconia as an implant material. He elaborated on the clinical protocols involved in the placement of zirconia implants and highlighted their advantages in specific patient scenarios, particularly in cases demanding superior biocompatibility and aesthetics. The session also touched upon the growing potential of metal-free implant solutions in modern dental practice, supported by case discussions and scientific evidence.
The program was well-received by undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as faculty members. It served as an excellent opportunity for participants to stay updated with advancements in implant materials and broaden their clinical perspectives.
